In 2018, Chong Boon Secondary School and Yio Chu Kang Secondary School merged.
To honor the rich, distinct histories of both institutions, the existing YCKSS circular architecture was preserved but given a beautiful, fresh reinterpretation.
By weaving the nature-centric metaphors and environmental legacy of the CBSS identity into the YCKSS framework, the mechanical "generator" components of the past were seamlessly reimagined into the blooming petals, life-giving seeds, and organic tree branches seen today.
This modern synthesis stands as a powerful symbol of unity—blending the heritage, values, and futures of both schools into a singular, cohesive vision for the future.
